Back in Kingston

I guess it’s been a good long while since I posted last on this site, and I should probably resign myself to the fact that I won’t be posting on this much more, but I really think it’s a bit of a waste, having spent four months writing my little heart out from Shanghai, Beijing and all of the other cities that I had a chance to visit. The blandness of Kingston is starting to drag me down a bit, not too badly but there is a lack of excitement that I feel about being away and about every day. The good thing is that I can use my experiences in a number of my classes quite differently for assignments and essays, which is quite useful. The culture shock back to “normal” was horrible, and I was quite cranky for about a week or two before I settled back into the swing of things. Maybe it was the temporary nature of my stay in Richmond Hill that made it so uncomfortable, or the fact that I don’t really know where I’m going to be in another 4 months makes it kind of difficult for me to really be settled or comfortable anywhere being uncertain of where I will be in the short term. Oh well, I will make a point (not that I have internet here) to update this a little more regularly. I’d really like to keep the theme of travel and culture and comment on things that relate to my adventures, but I might be inclined to go off on a tangent now and again, just to warn you.
